Iranian presidential election 2017

Iranian presidential election will happen in May 2017. With country being more connected to the outside world after sanctions have been lifted, new president will play important role in leading country to economic growth and international acceptance. He may also indirectly affect Iranian influence on Syrian and Iraqi conflicts. The most salient candidates (that have to be approved by Guarding Council) include incumbent president Hassan Rouhani and former president Mahmud Ahmadinejad.
