French presidential election 2017

France will choose its president in the spring of 2017. As many as 10 political parties are likely to announce their candidates for this position, not counting independent candidates. Major parties are The Republicans (candidates include former president Nicolas Sarkozy), Socialist Party (Hollande), Left Front(Melenchon) and National Front(Le Pen). Results would have major ramifications for foreign policy, relations with EU institutions and economy.
